FMP Week 6 - Texturing Large Assets

By the end of week 6, my level looked like this:





I have been texturing everything according to this colour palette I made from my reference material:
This colours, combined with the post-processing already in place, give the level a warm and inviting feel. I like using set colour palettes as it's an easy way to ensure everything in the level goes together, as well as helping build a certain moods.

I have a few more assets I need to finish texturing still, so I'm a day or two behind, according to my schedule.

I updated the wood textures a little, adding more ware into them, though I still have more work to do on the barn structure.

FMP Week 4/5 - Modelling Large Assets

4/02/16 - 12/02/16

The tail end of week 4 was spend modelling a few of the larger assets I needed.

Mike Powell said the barn structure needs more finish and detail, and suggested I pick an area and work it up to a finished standard. I need to add more ware to places.

Mike Pickton suggested adding a lot of decals, including rust drips. He also said  the back room might be too small, and that the beams in the backroom should be metal.

I reworked into the wood texture a bit, but I'll be working back into the back in the evenings to try and keep on schedule still.






By the end of week 5, most large assets are modelled and unwrapped, though there are still more I'd like to make - I'll going to texture these first.

FMP Week 4 - Finishing the Barn Structure

01/02/16 - 03/02/16

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week were spend finishing texturing the barn structure. All the textures were hand painted, and I'm pretty happy with how everything's come out so far considering I haven't done that many hand-painted textures before! Lighting is only basic at the moment - I won't be doing it properly until week 16.









The whole project has a texture budget of 5x 2048 texture sheet sets - I allocated 1x 2048 sheet for the whole structure. Most stuff is 512 tiling textures.









FMP Week 3 - Barn Structure

25/01/16 - 29/01/16

According to my time schedule, I was supposed to have finished the barn structure this week, but I ended up behind because of last week. Rather than change my schedule, I'm just going to try and catch up in week 4.

The level looks like this at the end of week 2:











All the structure pieces are modelled, I just need to texture everything. Most things will be tiling textures so it shouldn't take too long.
