Dichotomous Character Project Post Mortem - week 11

My final character models ended up as 2674 triangles for the girl and 3392 for the man.  Although it was quite a hard project, as characters are not my strong point, I’m satisfied with how both of them turned out.
In terms of design, I think my characters are quite successful, though I’m not sure how dichotomous they really are for the project. They are obviously part of the same world, though they might not be opposite enough.
When it comes to further improvements, although my characters are quite recognisably fishermen after my initial improvements, I could probably still make it more obvious. I also need to work on my character topology.
Making the clothes less flat and adding more texture to them would make both my characters more interesting.

Improving the Peeps - week 10

I wanted to see how I could push my characters further, as I was a little worried they didn't read that clearly as fishermen. I did some quick paint overs to see how I could easily improve them.

On Thursday, I had my final presentation for the project, where I got some more feedback regarding my characters. I was told it would be good to try and make the man's gut hang more, and add more folds/shapes to the clothing (so it doesn't look so sprayed on).

Modeling the Peeps - week 9

As I had pretty much finished the design of my characters the previous week, week 9 was dedicated to actually making my characters. We were only required to make 1 of them in order to fill the brief, but I had already decided to make both, as my design wasn't that complicated.

I managed to model and texture both of my characters during the week, taking about 2 days for each of them. I then moved onto rigging the man (which really isn't rigged that well).

I'm presenting my project on the Thursday of week 10, but the project deadline has been extended by an extra week, so I will have lots of time to polish both of my characters more, and maybe rig my second character.
